What Is the Elks?

We are a fun group of about 60 members who meet monthly except for July and August to plan activities and manage and distribute funds. We fund-raise together several times a year, at a variety of events and ticket-selling displays.

We regularly attend provincial events, have more fun and keep our name in the public eye. Some of these events are sports tournaments, provincial and national, some are conventions, some are meetings and functions at other lodges. We have an annual Provincial Conference, and in 2010 and 2014 it was here in Moose Jaw.

Some of our functions and fundraisers include the local Royal Purple Elks Lodge. All Elks Lodges are open to men and women. We support our national charity, the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children, our Provincial Foundation, and numerous local charities.

The Provincial Association has an annual Walkathon which was here in Moose Jaw in 2013. Walkathon funds raised support SPARC, The Saskatchewan Pediatric Auditory Rehabilitation Centre (Childrens' Hearing Centre) at the Saskatoon University Hospital.

Members become friends. We visit each others' businesses and homes and socialize together. Pictures

We honour our history and tradition (see the History page) and our monthly meetings often include ceremonial openings, closings and other ceremonies.

We are actively seeking new members with new ideas! We're strong, and we want to become stronger so we can serve Moose Jaw better. Application form
