THE ELKS AND THE HOSPITALS IN MOOSE JAW
Throughout our history of over 100 years we have supported local hospitals. Our archives contain many records of donations. At the old Union Hospital we were recognized on the donors' walls at the entryway.
The Moose Jaw Royal Purple Elks Lodge No. 9 closed late last year. The members decided to donate $2,500.00 of their funds to the Foundation. We applaud their decision. Here's a photo of long-time members Gladys Stewart, on left, and Shirley McGregor presenting the cheque to Kelly McElree, Executive Director of the Moose Jaw Health Foundation:
We continue to support the Dr. F. H. Wigmore Hospital through donations to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation. Our charity budget has a line item for a regular annual donation, and we provide other donations from special events throughout the year. Your continued support through donations, purchases and volunteering at our fundraisers helps us.
The new Hospital recognizes us on two walls in the lobby. We are grateful to the Foundation for the recognition. The first is the Heritage Wall, with all the names from the old Union Hospital donors' walls:
Our name is on it:
We are also on the Main Donor wall, which is used to display contributors to the Capital Equipment Campaign and future donors:
